Automate your entire credentialing process and
reduce the administrative burden

Traditional credentialing databases handle staff applications only.  As a comprehensive practitioner file management solution, VCredentialing addresses the full scope of medical staff credentialing - communication with practitioners, application collection and verification as well as integration with hospital departments and committee workflow.  Improving the entire credentialing process directly benefits a hospital's operating efficiency, the effectiveness of the credentials committee and the satisfaction of medical and allied health staff.

"First, and most importantly, is that the content of the Credentials Committee discussions has tremendously improved.  ...the committee spends minimal time in the logistics of review and more time in the substantive debate about privileging, data reviews and OPPE."  - Medical University of South Carolina, SC

VCredentialing Features

  • Delivers a completely digital credentialing process.

We take your existing applications and put them online.  The entire content of your existing medical staff file room is electronically archived. Automated workflows are utilized to coordinate the file review process, management of records and all correspondence.

  • Manages the hospital cycle for appointment and re-appointment of medical and allied health staff.

Verge staff support practitioners through the entire application process.  The application is online and includes automated collection of peer references and departmental evaluations.  Any questions or concerns regarding the appointment process are directed at Verge rather than hospital personnel.

  • Maintains expiring records.

During the period between re-appointments, Verge manages expiring records (state licenses, DEA, insurance, etc.) and communicates with the practitioner until the record is renewed or the issue is resolved.

  • Provides best practice practitioner reports.

Reports distributed for departmental review and to the credentials committee represent best practice credentialing standards.  They also include redundant primary source verifications, a complete presentation of all data as well as formatting for ease of use by evaluators.  These reports are essential to effective decision making and serve as evidence of compliance for relevant accrediting body audits such as TJC, NCQA, CMS, URAC, etc.

  • Handles privilege changes.

Intra-appointment changes or additions to existing clinical privileges are handled by Verge support.  The request, along with an FPPE and verification of any specified competencies, seamlessly becomes part of the credentials committee agenda and the practitioner's file.

  • Promotes administrative access and oversight.

Every step of credentialing, privileging and file management is visible to an unlimited number of authorized hospital users.  All intra-appointment files, new applications, in-process verifications, department reviews, and credentials committee queues have individual and/or summary oversight.

  • Enables product integration and compliance.

In conjunction with VSurvey and VCommittEase, VCredentialing can automatically pull practitioner performance reports and include workflow for practitioner applications to advance through other committee structures like the medical executive committee and governing board.  VSurvey is used to conduct on-going performance improvement audits of practitioner records (including detailed assessments of application processing rules and thoroughness of verifications in accordance with hospital policy and accreditation requirements).
